At the MicroBalkans25 conference, the second Policy Forum brought together high-ranking partners from Europe who have continuously contributed to the development of the Western Balkans, to discuss creating an enabling environment for the development of social finance. The panel raised key issues of regulatory harmonization, financial inclusion, modernization of payment systems and alignment with the EU accession process, with a particular focus on the role of microfinance and social economy actors in sustainable development and regional cooperation.
The discussion highlighted the importance of coordinated policies, common European standards and institutional support in strengthening inclusive finance in the region. This dialogue is an important contribution to advancing inclusive finance standards within the broader framework of cooperation with the EU.
